The venue – ADDA

ADDA, the Auditorio de la Diputación de Alicante, sits in the city centre on Paseo de Campoamor and has become one of Alicante's architectural landmarks.

The ADDA has a modern design with simple lines, a solid exterior volume, and a striking presence. The texture and colour of the exterior materials, such as the whiteness of the limestone, are characteristic of traditional architecture.

The building is organised around a large, triple-height hall, supported by the ground-floor foyer (entrance hall), which serves as its nerve centre. Running along the rear of this hall is a central corridor that traverses the building from north to south across all floors, connecting the private areas (administrative and artists' spaces) with the public areas.

The choice of finish materials was made to draw parallels with the colours and materials typical of the performing arts: black and white, evoking artists' attire or the keys of a piano; and wood and copper, reminiscent of musical instruments.

The ADDA has 10 rooms, including a Symphonic Hall, and a total floor area of 28,580 m².
